I am a damaged mom. *gasp* right? lol Maybe you are damaged too and if you aren’t at this moment, chances are you will be at some point
throughout the challenges of motherhood.
Eleven days ago I took a bad fall
and seriously injured myself. Our new cottage property is under construction
and I went to step outside onto a step that had been moved, so I misjudged how
far the drop would be. This resulted in my toes hitting the deck full force, my
foot bending in half and I landed on the front of my ankle. |

You know your a MOM when...
You have to sneak around...
Peeing alone is a thing of the past...
Your memory likes to play tricks on you...
You are constantly searching for your SANITY...
You are pretty sure there are silent alarms rigged everywhere in your house...
You wish there was an app to find things in your house...
You behave like a gangsta rap star when the kids are finally in BED...
You miraculously remember everything you forgot to do, when all you want to do is shut your brain off and go to bed. |

The Most AWESOME Mother’s Day EVER!
Once upon a Mother’s Day morning, the Mama was still
sleeping soundly while the kids and the loverman cooked and cleaned and did the
laundry very, very quietly.
When all the cleaning was done, the kids quietly opened
the Mama’s bedroom door and surprised her with a hot cup of coffee, just the
way she likes it and wished her a HAPPY Mama’s Day!
Before the kids left the Mama to enjoy her delicious hot cup of
coffee in peace, they showered her with lots of love, hugs and kisses! |

I received amazing customer
service this morning and that is what prompted this blog. The gentleman who
served me was respectful, cheerful, helpful and super polite. He absolutely made
my day, despite the fact that he is probably only getting paid $10.25/hr
(minimum wage in Ontario, Canada) and struggling to make ends meet.
Most people who work in the
customer service industry do not make a decent living wage. This is well known.
And if it isn’t well known, it absolutely should be!
When you think about it, people who
work in the front line of the customer service industry are the key
representatives and the first impression of the business they work for. |

What’s going on?
I’ll tell ya what’s going on, awesomeness
is going on!
If you are reading this, chances are you have helped me make that
happen. Before I tell you about all of the amazing things I’m working on, I
would like to personally thank each and every one of my readers for supporting
me, laughing with me and sharing with me. It is because of YOU that I
absolutely love doing what I do!
For those of you who are not
aware, I recently took advantage of an amazing opportunity and I have turned my
comic strip hobby into a webcomic business. |

Over the last year and a half, through
the power of social media, I have been stripping away the insanity of life and
parenthood and building a community of people who choose to find the positive and
the humor in life instead of taking it WAY too seriously!
On February 14, 2013, I officially turned my
comic strip hobby into a comic strip business. I would like to personally thank
all of you who have supported me and encouraged me to do this! It has been an incredible venture and YOU have made it possible! |

In light of yesterday's tragic events that took place in Boston, I encourage you to keep focusing on the good, the positive and the humor in life. I understand that in times like these it can be difficult. However, the truth is that hate crimes and acts of war & evil occur on a daily basis throughout the world. They are committed by people who are consumed with evil and hatred. Period.
Innocent lives are lost tragically every day. You cannot hate and condemn an entire country or group of people because of the acts of some. |

Last night, while I was tossing and turning in bed going over my “mental lists” of ALL the things I want and need to accomplish this week over and over again in my head, out of nowhere, a precious memory randomly flew into the middle of all that mess of multi-thinking. It was a memory from about 5 years ago. Lexie was 5ish and in kindergarten. My youngest son was in junior high and my oldest son was in high school. I was a single mama at the time and having to get the kiddos off to three different schools as well as myself to work and get there on time made for super challenging mornings, to say the least. |

My, my, my... how times have changed! If you have been affected by the “spring forward” time change and you are anything like me, you might be feeling a little “off” today. You might be affected by the time change IF.... - You woke up this morning and your alarm said “time to get up” and your mind said “NO!”
- You physically feel like you have whiplash from being slung shot into the future.
- There are two different time zones in your house because you are too lazy to change ALL the clocks.
